Many people dread hitting the big 4-0, but there's actually a lot to look forward to!

Of all the information on the internet about turning 40, we think this hits the nail on the head. We love it because although it can be applied in so many situations, it's really helpful for those birthday milestones that have us feeling a bit wobbly.

Today was the absolute worst day ever
And don't try to convince me that
There's something good in every day
Because, when you take a closer look,
This world is a pretty evil place.
Even if
Some goodness does shine through once in a while
Satisfaction and happiness don't last.
And it's not true that
It's all in the mind and heart
Because
True happiness can be attained
Only if one's surroundings are good
It's not true that good exists
I'm sure you can agree that
The reality
Creates
My attitude
It's all beyond my control
And you'll never in a million years hear me say
Today was a very good day

Now read it in reverse from bottom to top, the other way,
And see what I really feel about my day.

This delightful and insightful not to mention original poem was not written by a just turned 40 year old, but by a teenager, Chanie Gorkin, we discovered on Poetry Nation.

At My Guestbook we love celebrations, you should hope so, after all, we have built a whole business around them. Hitting a significant birthday can bring with it some challenges, but can also bring new adventures, celebrations, new beginnings and we hope much laughter.

Whether you are turning forty yourself, or looking for the perfect gift for a friend, or family member we can help. Those of you who drew the short straw at work to find a gift for the hard to buy for work colleague you've arrived at the right place!

Have a look at our 40th guestbooks and if you don't see anything that quite fits the bill or you'd like a totally bespoke guestbook give us a call or send us a message and let's have a chat.
